Anti-AIMP1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein aminoacyl tRNA synthetase complex interacting multifunctional protein 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 312 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, ER, golgi, cytoplasm, and is also secreted. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. AIMP1 is reported to be a non-catalytic component of the multisynthase complex. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage. Synonyms for this target antigen include EMAPII, HLD3, SCYE1, p43, aminoacyl tRNA synthase complex-interacting multifunctional protein 1, and EMAP2.
