Anti-Strumpellin and WASH-interacting protein antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Strumpellin and WASH-interacting protein is a known alias name of the protein WASH complex subunit 4, encoded by the WASHC4 gene in humans. This 1173-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a component of the WASH core complex that functions as a nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) at the surface of endosomes, where it recruits and activates the Arp2/3 complex to induce actin polymerization, playing a key role in the fission of tubules that serve as transport intermediates during endosome sorting. It is localized to the endosome of the cell.
