Anti-S100Z antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein S100 calcium binding protein Z. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 99 amino acid residues and a mass of 11.6 kDa. It is notably expressed in the tonsil. It is a member of the S-100 protein family. The S100Z marker can be used to identify Amygdala Excitatory Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include protein S100-Z and S100 calcium binding protein, zeta. S100Z gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
