Anti-PLPBP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein pyridoxal phosphate binding protein. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 275 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.3 kDa. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. It is a member of the Pyridoxal phosphate-binding protein YggS/PROSC protein family. The PLPBP gene has been associated with the disease, Epilepsy. Synonyms for this target antigen include PROSC, pyridoxal phosphate homeostasis protein, PLP homeostasis protein, proline synthase co-transcribed bacterial homolog protein, proline synthetase co-transcribed bacterial homolog protein, and EPVB6D. PLPBP gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some PLPBP antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
