Anti-SNRNP40 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein small nuclear ribonucleoprotein U5 subunit 40. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 357 amino acid residues and a mass of 39.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. SNRNP40 is said to be required for pre-mRNA splicing as component of the activated spliceosome. Synonyms for this target antigen include HPRP8BP, PRP8BP, PRPF8BP, SPF38, WDR57, and 40K. SNRNP40 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some SNRNP40 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
