Anti-TMC5 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane channel like 5. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1006 amino acid residues and a mass of 114.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the membrane. Up to 4 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the TMC protein family, TMC5 is a suspected ion channel. Synonyms for this target antigen include transmembrane channel-like protein 5. TMC5 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some TMC5 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
