Anti-ERV3-1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein endogenous retrovirus group 3 member 1, envelope. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 604 amino acid residues and a mass of 67.9 kDa. It is noted to be expressed at higher level in adrenal, sebaceous glands and placenta. It is a member of the Gamma type-C retroviral envelope protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including protein cleavage and glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include ERV3, ERVR, HERV-R, HERVR, envR, and ERV-R.
