Anti-SLC27A6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 27 member 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 619 amino acid residues and a mass of 70.1 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart and localizes to cardiac myocytes. A member of the ATP-dependent AMP-binding enzyme protein family, SLC27A6 is known to mediate the import of long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) into the cell by facilitating their transport at the plasma membrane. Synonyms for this target antigen include FACVL2, FATP6, VLCS-H1, long-chain fatty acid transport protein 6, acyl-CoA synthetase very long chain family, member 2, and ACSVL2. SLC27A6 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC27A6 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
