Anti-ACOD1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein aconitate decarboxylase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 481 amino acid residues and a mass of 52.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is reported to be expressed in LPS-tolerized macrophages. A member of the PrpD protein family, ACOD1 is reported to be a cis-aconitate decarboxylase that catalyzes production of itaconate and is involved in the inhibition of the inflammatory response. Synonyms for this target antigen include cis-aconitic acid decarboxylase, immune-responsive gene 1 protein homolog, immunoresponsive 1 homolog, and cis-aconitate decarboxylase. ACOD1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ACOD1 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
