Anti-SLC4A4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 4 member 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1079 amino acid residues and a mass of 121.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the small intestine, pancreas, kidney, gallbladder, and cerebellum. A member of the Anion exchanger (TC 2.A.31) protein family, SLC4A4 is known to be involved with the transport of ions and transmembrane transport. Synonyms for this target antigen include KNBC, NBC1, NBC2, NBCe1, NBCe1-A, SLC4A5, hhNMC, and HNBC1. SLC4A4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SLC4A4 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Immunohistochemistry is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
