Anti-SERPINF1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein serpin family F member 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 418 amino acid residues and a mass of 46.3 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. A member of the Serpin protein family, SERPINF1 is known to be involved with pathways of aging and carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including O-glycosylation and phosphorylation. The SERPINF1 marker can be used to identify Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cells (PDC) and Choroid Plexus Non-Neuronal Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include OI12, OI6, PEDF, PIG35, pigment epithelium-derived factor, and EPC-1. SERPINF1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
