Anti-VPS50 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein VPS50 subunit of EARP/GARPII complex. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 964 amino acid residues and a mass of 111.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the endosome. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be widely expressed, with higher expression in the brain and skeletal muscle. A member of the Syndetin protein family, VPS50 is known to act as component of the EARP complex that is involved in endocytic recycling. Synonyms for this target antigen include EARP/GARPII complex subunit VPS50, VPS50, EARP/GARPII complex subunit, coiled-coil domain containing 132, coiled-coil domain-containing protein 132, and syndetin. VPS50 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some VPS50 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
