Anti-RPL8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ribosomal protein L8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 257 amino acid residues and a mass of 28 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Universal ribosomal protein uL2 protein family, RPL8 is a known component of the large ribosomal subunit. Synonyms for this target antigen include uL2, 60S ribosomal protein L8, large ribosomal subunit protein uL2, and L8. RPL8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of RPL8 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
