Anti-FUCA2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein alpha-L-fucosidase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 467 amino acid residues and a mass of 54.1 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the testis. A member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 29 protein family, FUCA2 is known to be involved with metabolic processes. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include plasma alpha-L-fucosidase, I+/--L-fucosidase 2, a-L-fucosidase 2, alpha-L-fucoside fucohydrolase 2, fucosidase, alpha-L- 2, plasma, and dJ20N2.5. FUCA2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of FUCA2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
