Anti-NTHL1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein nth like DNA glycosylase 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 312 amino acid residues and a mass of 34.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and mitochondria. It is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels in the heart and lowest levels in the lung and liver. It is a member of the Nth/MutY protein family. The NTHL1 marker can be used to identify Type 2 Medullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include NTH1, OCTS3, hNTH1, endonuclease III-like protein 1, DNA glycoslyase/AP lyase, and FAP3. NTHL1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
