Anti-bicdr1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target bicdr1 is a known alias name of the protein BICD family like cargo adaptor 1, encoded by the BICDL1 gene in humans. This 573-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a adapter protein linking the dynein motor complex to various cargos and converts dynein from a non-processive to a highly processive motor in the presence of dynactin. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the epididymis and kidney.
