Anti-Calbindin 2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the CALB2 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 271 amino acid residues and a mass of 31.5 kDa. It is notably expressed in the brain. The calbindin 2 protein is a member of the Calbindin protein family. Other names for this target antigen include CAL2, CR, calretinin, 29 kDa calbindin, calbindin 2, (29kD, calretinin), and CAB29.
