We were interested in establishing IgA1 and IgA2 specific immortalized B-cell lines. PBMCs from blood donors were infected with EBV and once a cell line was produced, IgA1 and IgA2 populations were FACs sorted.

The heterogynous transformed B-cells were stained with an IgA (APC - non subclass specific) and the IgA2(PE) antibodies. Two distinct populations were visible during flow cytometry.

The antibody has good specificity and the PE signal is strong. The recommended dilution requires quite a lot of antibody, so a titration experiment could be done in order to minimize the antibody used.
