Our lab utilizes Synaptic System's anti-IBA 1 antibody to stain for microglia in brain sections from our murine cohorts of neurodegeneration. The reagent confers a strong, clear signal even at low concentrations and is a good alternative to rabbit anti-mouse IBA 1 from Wako (Fujifilm).
Immunofluorescence
Mouse brain tissue sections
1:1000; overnight @ 4 degrees C.
BSA or serum
Anti-chicken; 1:1000; 1 hour @ RT.

The reagent provides a strong, clear signal that can be imaged via multiple imaging platforms making it amenable to many different studies. Similar to the anti-IBA 1 from Wako (Fujifilm), this reagent provides a full representation of both soma and branching.
