We used this LDH cytotoxicity assay kit to evaluate the cytotoxic activity of culture supernatants of Staphylococcus aureus. This kit is very sensitive in our assays and we really like it.

We used S. aureus culture supernatants to treat the differentiated THP-1 cells. The cytotoxicity of bacterial culture supernatants was evaluated by measuring the LDH release of THP-1 in cell culture supernatants. As expected, S. aureus culture supernatants showed dose-dependent cytotoxicity to differentiated THP-1 cells.
The kit is very sensitive to detect the LDH release from mammalian cells.
