Time Course Effect of Chemoattractant on MT-ND1 Expression

MT-ND1 gene provides instructions for making a protein called NADH dehydrogenase 1. It is a part of a large enzyme complex known as complex I, which is active in mitochondria. Complex I is involved in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone. Defects in MT-ND1 are a cause of Leber hereditary optic neuropathy, mitochondrial encephalomyopathy with lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes syndrome (MELAS), Alzheimer disease and diabetes mellitus . Here we checked the time course effect of chemoattractant on MT-ND1.
