I have used anti-vimentin antibody on breast cancer cells to determine the epithelial to mesenchymal transition in these cells. The source of identification is immunofluorescence staining followed by detection by imaging on the confocal microscope. Anti-vimentin from sigma is good positive control for mesenchymal cells, especially triple-negative breast cancers with a mesenchymal phenotype .

Results Summary

Very clearly shows the difference between the mesenchymal and epithelial breast cancer cells by the presence or absence of vimentin. I have used this antibody in a 3D-coculture system, this antibody binds specifically to human but not the mouse cells present in the coculture system.
