Product Name:

Akt1 (C73H10) Rabbit mAb

Catalog Number:

2938

Our lab studies mTOR signaling in macrophage polarization and function. We are actively interested in studying mTORC2 signaling in this process. By deleting Rictor in macrophages, we are able to tease apart the role of mTORC2. This antibody is easy to use and works well.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Western Blot

Sample

Murine macrophages (WT and Rictor KO)

Primary Incubation

1:2000 in 4% BSA/TBST

Blocking Agent

5% dry milk/TBST

Secondary Incubation

1:5000 Rabbit IgG HRP in 5% dry milk/TBST

Tertiary Incubation

None

Detection

Invitrogen ECL Pico

Results Summary

We are able to detect total AKT1 levels in both WT and Rictor KO macrophages to prove that KO macrophage are only deficient in pAKT activity but not actual AKT protein.
