We wanted to look at proliferating cells in the mouse intestine, so we administered the mice with BrdU intra-peritoneally then stained with anti-BrdU.
Immunofluorescence
Mouse large intestine
1:100 in 1% BSA in PBS overnight
5% goat serum in 1% BSA
1:200 in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature

Confocal microscopy
The antibody stains cells that incorporated BrdU very well.

Sections were treated with acid (1 N HCl) prior to staining.
The antibody stains BrdU very well.
Might have to optimize a bit to visualize BrdU optimally
The antibody is great for identifying proliferating cells
