Lamp-1 is located on the luminal side of lysosomes. Upon activation, Lamp-1 is transferred to the cell membrane surface of activated phagocytes. We used cells from Lamp-deficient mice to analyzed the role of phagocytosis during bacteria pathogen infection.

Results Summary

Our results indicates bone marrow-derived macrophages from Lamp-1 deficient mice, unable to efficiently killing pathogenic bacteria compare to the control cells. Infected cells contains significant higher number of bacteria than the macrophages from control mice.
