Human Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cell Growth Medium

Catalog Number:

Our research focuses on exploring signaling pathways involved in the oncogenic transformation of human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells, which is highly relevant to human lung cancer development. We regularly induce transformation of cultured normal human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells by expressing a variety of oncogenes.  We used to culture our normal human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells in the medium purchased from Lonza., but it was out of stock at that time. We happened to find the medium from Cell Applications through a web search. In our experience, Human Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cell Growth Medium from Cell Applications is as good as, if not better than, the medium from Lonza.   Normal human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells grew very well in this medium with minimal cell death and excellent proliferation. The medium from Cell applications is less expensive than the similar product from Lonza.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Application

Culturing normal human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells

Starting Material

Human Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cells

Protocol Overview

Normal human bronchial/tracheal epithelial cells are seeded in tissue culture plates at the density of 3,500 cells/cm2, and cells are cultured with 1 ml Human Bronchial/Tracheal Epithelial Cell Growth Medium per 5 cm2. The growth medium is replaced with fresh medium every other day.

Tips

Warm up medium to 37 degrees celcius before use.
