Mammalian cell lines were treated with growth factor in a time dependent manner, and tested for STAT-3 Lys685 acetylation using western blotting. Cell Signaling antibody was selected because it can detect steady state levels of STAT-3 acetylation in non-transfected cells.

Results Summary

In the present study, antibody from cell Signaling technology was used for immunodetection and showed excellent specificity towards Ac-STAT3 in mammalian cells. However, no response of growth factor treatment on STAT-3 (Lys685) acetylation was observed.
