We are interested in the role of antigen presenting cells during the induction of oral tolerance in mice. For this purpose we analyze phenotypic and functional changes of antigen presenting cell subsets after tolerance induction, among these plasmacytoid dendritic cells that are CD11c low PDCA1+.

We gated on total DCs (CD11c+CD3-CD19-NK1.1-). Plasmacytoid cells were PDCA1+ CD11c low.
It is recommanded to digest organs using Collagenase D and DNase I before staining for dendritic cells.
Bright staining
B cells can express PDCA-1, hence it is recommended except for B cells using CD19 (which are B220-) as pDCs are B220+
Very good antibody for staining of plasmacytoid dendritic cells.
