Liquid cultures at low and high cell densities were grown at high light with the addition of MC to the growth medium (MC+) or without it (MC-). Protein extracts were analyzed by SDS-PAGE (A) and immunoblots (B), detected proteins are named, molecular weight markers are given in kDa. MC binding to proteins increases after the addition of MC. Cells from high cell density cultures were immunostained and analyzed by confocal microscopy (C) showing a relocation of both RbcL and RbcS to the cell membrane only after MC addition.
