Hybridomas are necessary in the production of monoclonal antibodies. A complete hybridoma production service may include the following general steps: design of a custom peptide antigen, conjugation to a carrier, immunization into the rodent, fusion, ELISA screening, subcloning for optimal clones, and production of the monoclonal antibody.
