Fluorescein Dyes

Fluorescein is a green fluorophore commonly conjugated to proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids for a variety of applications, such as histochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, FISH, and flow cytometry. The dye has an absorption wavelength that peaks around 495 nm, and an emission maximum around 517 nm. Many derivatives of fluorescein are used in research, including FITC, FAM, and carboxyfluorescein.
