T-cell exhaustion is a mechanism evolved by the immune system to avoid autoimmunity, but it has been known to be co-opted by cancer cells to escape targeting by the immune system. In response, researchers have developed monoclonal antibody drugs to block suppressive cell surface markers and reinvigorate these T-cells. Bio-Rad's 16-color flow cytometry panel to examine in-depth changes to the T-cell phenotype, exhaustion, and cellular subset identity markers before and after chronic stimulation and in combination with a monoclonal antibody drug treatment targeting the PD1 receptor.
