Overview

This Bench Tips webinar will delve into how 3D cellular models can be generated and utilized to understand physiological pathways and minimize the use of animals for drug development. The speakers will describe their experiences designing 3D organoid models from animal and patient cells to accurately recapitulate the disease phenotype.

The advantages and limitations of different types of 3D cell models and co-cultures and applying them for specific applications like high-throughput drug screening will also be discussed.

You will learn about:

  • How to generate validated 3D models for replicating and studying disease pathways
  • Case studies highlighting generation of 3D models for inflammation, autoimmunity and cancer
  • Challenges with maintaining 3D cells for extended periods of time in culture
  • How to validate 3D models for a specific disease
  • Using 3D models to study immune modulation, transcriptomic changes, and drug responses
Researchers interested in the following should attend:
  • 3D cellular models and assays
  • Cell-based assays
  • Cell and molecular biology
  • Assay development
  • Disease areas like inflammation, immunity, and cancer
