These WFS ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of WFS in biological samples. WFS is an alias name of the human WFS1 gene, which encodes the protein, wolframin ER transmembrane glycoprotein. Notably, WFS is known to play a role in carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis and kidney development, among other functions. The WFS1 protein is described to be 890 amino acid residues in length and 100.3 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and ER of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be highly expressed in heart followed by brain, placenta, lung and pancreas. This protein is known to be glycosylated. Other names for this target antigen include CTRCT41 and WFRS.
