These HSDB ELISA kits are immunodetection tools for measuring the levels of HSDB in biological samples. HSDB is an alias of the human HSD3B2 gene, which encodes the protein, hydroxy-delta-5-steroid dehydrogenase, 3 beta- and steroid delta-isomerase 2. Notably, HSDB is known to play a role in brain development, among other functions. The HSD3B2 protein is 372 amino acid residues in length and 42.1 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 2 protein isoforms have been identified. It is localized to the mitochondria and ER of the cell. In terms of tissue specificity, it is reported to be expressed in adrenal gland, testis and ovary. Other names for this target antigen include HSD3B and SDR11E2.
