The protein is a known component of the Arp2/3 complex, a multiprotein complex that mediates actin polymerization upon stimulation by nucleation-promoting factor (NPF). The ARPC1B protein is described to be 372 amino acid residues in length and 41 kilodaltons in mass. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell.
