Functionally, this protein is known to play a role in pre-mRNA splicing as component of the U4/U6-U5 tri-snRNP complex that is involved in spliceosome assembly, and as component of the precatalytic spliceosome (spliceosome B complex). The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 102 residues, a mass of 11.8 kDa, and is a member of the SnRNP Sm proteins protein family. It is known to be localized in the nucleus.
