GNPTG ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphate transferase subunit gamma, which is encoded by the GNPTG gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is reported to be a non-catalytic subunit of the N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphotransferase complex, an enzyme that catalyzes the formation of mannose 6-phosphate (M6P) markers on high mannose type oligosaccharides in the Golgi apparatus. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 305 residues and a mass of 34 kDa. It is known to be localized in the golgi and is secreted and is widely expressed across many tissue types. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. The GNPTG gene has been associated with the disease, Mucolipidosis type III. Other alias names for this target include N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphate transferase gamma subunit, UDP-N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphotransferase subunit gamma, glcNAc-1-phosphotransferase subunit gamma, and N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphotransferase subunit gamma.
