The protein is reported to be an actin-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex, a multiprotein complex that mediates actin polymerization upon stimulation by nucleation-promoting factor (NPF). The ARPC4 protein is 168 amino acid residues in length and 19.7 kilodaltons in mass. However, as many as 4 protein isoforms have been identified.
