AQP8 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein aquaporin 8, which is encoded by the AQP8 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is a reported channel that allows the facilitated permeation of water and uncharged molecules, such as hydrogen peroxide and the neutral form of ammonia (NH3), through cellular membranes such as plasma membrane, inner mitochondrial membrane and endoplasmic reticulum membrane of several tissues. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 261 residues, a mass of 27.4 kDa, and is a member of the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) protein family. It is known to be localized in the mitochondria, ER, and cell membrane and is notably expressed in the sperm midpiece. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally N-glycosylated.
The detection range for different AQP8 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 15.625 pg/mL and as high as 20 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
