Bacillus ELISA kits are assays designed to detect markers expressed by bacteria of the genus Bacillus. This includes B. thuringiensis (BT) and B. anthracis. Bacillus species are Gram-positive rod-shaped bacteria which can be obligate aerobes or facultative anaerobes. They can form endospores and are used industrially to produce enzymes such as alpha amylase. B. cereus can cause food poisoning while B. anthracis is the causative agent of anthrax.
