WFS1 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein wolframin ER transmembrane glycoprotein, which is encoded by the WFS1 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to participate in the regulation of cellular Ca(2+) homeostasis, at least partly, by modulating the filling state of the endoplasmic reticulum Ca(2+) store. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid sequence of 890 residues and a mass of 100.3 kDa. It is known to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and ER and is reported to be highly expressed in heart followed by brain, placenta, lung and pancreas. The protein has been noted to be post-translationally glycosylated. The WFS1 gene has been associated with the disease, Wolfram syndrome. Other alias names for this target include WFRS, WFS, WFSL, wolframin, Wolfram syndrome 1 (wolframin), and CTRCT41.
The detection range for different WFS1 ELISA kits can vary, with some assays measuring target concentrations as low as 10 ng/L and as high as 20 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
