BCAT2 ELISA kits are immunoassay tools for the measurement of the protein branched chain amino acid transaminase 2, which is encoded by the BCAT2 gene in humans. Functionally, this protein is known to catalyze the first reaction in the catabolism of the essential branched chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine. The canonical protein structure is reported to have an amino acid length of 392 residues, a mass of 44.3 kDa, and is a member of the Class-IV pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase protein family. It is known to be localized in the mitochondria and is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. As many as 2 protein isoforms have been reported. The BCAT2 gene has been associated with the disease, Hypervalinemia and hyperleucine-isoleucinemia. Other alias names for this target include BCATM, BCT2, HVLI, PP18, branched-chain-amino-acid aminotransferase, mitochondrial, and BCAM.
There are BCAT2 ELISA kits that can detect a target at concentrations as low as 15 ng/L and as high as 20 ng/mL. Click on the products below for more detailed ELISA kit information, such as target reactivity and assay sensitivity.
