Anti-DLX4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein distal-less homeobox 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 240 amino acid residues and a mass of 26.3 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be expressed in leukemia cells and placenta. A member of the Distal-less homeobox protein family, DLX4 is believed to play a role in determining the production of hemoglobin S. The DLX4 gene has been associated with the disease, Non-syndromic orofacial cleft. Synonyms for this target antigen include DLX7, DLX8, DLX9, OFC15, homeobox protein DLX-4, beta protein 1, distal-less homeo box 7, and BP1. DLX4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of DLX4 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
