Anti-CAPN10 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein calpain 10. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 672 amino acid residues and a mass of 75 kDa. Up to 8 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in primary skeletal muscle cells. A member of the Peptidase C2 protein family, CAPN10 is known to be involved with cytoskeleton organization and insulin signaling pathways. The CAPN10 gene has been associated with the disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Synonyms for this target antigen include NIDDM1, calcium-activated neutral proteinase 10, calpain-like protease CAPN10, and CANP10. CAPN10 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the CAPN10 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
