Anti-PRSS2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein serine protease 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 247 amino acid residues and a mass of 26.5 kDa. It is known to be a secreted protein. It is reported to be expressed in Paneth cells, at the base of small intestinal crypts. A member of the Peptidase S1 protein family, it is known to be involved with proteolysis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including sulfation. Synonyms for this target antigen include TRY8, TRYP2, trypsin-2, anionic trypsinogen, protease serine 2 preproprotein, and TRY2.
