Anti-GUCA1B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein guanylate cyclase activator 1B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 200 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably expressed in the retina and testis. GUCA1B is known to be involved with cell to cell signaling. The GUCA1B gene has been associated with the disease, Retinitis pigmentosa. Synonyms for this target antigen include GCAP2, GUCA2, RP48, guanylyl cyclase-activating protein 2, guanylate cyclase activator 1B (retina), and GCAP 2. GUCA1B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some GUCA1B antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
