Anti-PFKFB2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 505 amino acid residues and a mass of 58.5 kDa. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of the Phosphoglycerate mutase protein family, it is known to be involved with carbohydrate metabolism and homeostasis. Post-translational modifications have been described, including phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase 2, 6PF-2-K/Fru-2,6-P2ASE heart-type isozyme, 6PF-2-K/Fru-2,6-P2ase 2, PFK/FBPase 2, and PFK-2/FBPase-2.
