Anti-ESYT2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein extended synaptotagmin 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 921 amino acid residues and a mass of 102.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER and cell membrane. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with high level in cerebellum. A member of the Extended synaptotagmin protein family, ESYT2 is known to be involved with endocytosis and the metabolism of lipids. Synonyms for this target antigen include extended synaptotagmin like protein 2, extended synaptotagmin protein 2, family with sequence similarity 62 (C2 domain containing), member B, and chr2 synaptotagmin. ESYT2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of ESYT2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
