Anti-TDH1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TDH1 is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 5 member 5, encoded by the SLC5A5 gene in humans. This 643-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a sodium:iodide symporter that mediates the transport of iodide into the thyroid gland. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the thyroid gland, stomach, salivary gland, and choroid plexus. Other synonyms for TDH1 include NIS and sodium/iodide cotransporter. Western Blot is a widely used application for the TDH1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
